6 Month Check-up

So, Odie's 6 (7 really) month check-up went well!

He weighs 18lbs, 11.5oz. The Dr. thinks the nurse was a little "liberal" with the height last time, because he only grew a quarter of an inch to 26.5 inches.

I had her look at the spot on his tongue and Dr. Hart says it's geographic tongue. Apparently it's just where parts of the tongue don't have the same "geography" as the other parts. His appear shiny and smooth. She also said that it can migrate to different parts of the tongue as well...so he's full of all sorts of neat stuff!

He also got 3 shots today and was NOT a happy camper about it...which is not surprising in the least... Jason gave him some Tylenol before he got there, so that should help.

Tomorrow, his Aunt Saundra, Uncle Adam and cousin Evan are coming up for lunch and Saturday is Jason's cousin's wedding...so we'll be busy!

First Vacation to Big Bass Lake!

This weekend was our first vacation to Grandma and Grandpa Young's house on Big Bass Lake!

It was the furthest from home Odie has ever been. He seemed to enjoy himself! On the way up, we popped in Toy Story, and 4 hours later we were there!!

We spent our time hanging out outside the campers, snacking away!

"That darn apple is too darn slippery!"

"and Mommy thought the apple was messy..."

"I even got to snuggle with my good friend Olive!"

"One night, I just wouldn't go to bed....so i got to go on my first boat ride...in my jammies!!"

I had a great time hanging out in my new camper too!

Now we can't wait for summer and warm lake water!! 4th of July...here we come!

A Visit from Family

The weekend before last, the Golab family came over for a few hours of playtime. This was the first time that Oliver has had some chance to interact with "people his own age" since he was very little. All he wanted to do was steal everything Beckham was playing with, but we're going to work on that...

Here are a couple of pics of the Golab kids:

Beckham promised me that he would make sure everything was nice and drooled on so Odie would know what to do with them :)

Alexis insisted on sitting in Odie's Bumbo seat....the fact that she can fit in it the same time Odie can makes me think Odie just might be a little chunky :)

Mother's Day Extravaganza!!

Last weekend was a few firsts for the Garrett Family! It was our first night in our new camper, first time using the stove top, first time making cookies in the oven...It was a blast!

On Sunday, we spent my first Mother's Day having a wonderful brunch with family. Both of our parents, my Aunt Shelly and Uncle Bill, my Grandma and Grandpa, and Jeff were there. Not to mention all the "kids": Morgan, Trudy, Gracie, Hermie, Francine and Daisy, as well as my "cousin" Lucy and my two little "sisters," Agnes and Olive.

Everyone's pooped after a long weekend of playing!!

Hi! I love my new camper!!!

After brunch, Mom, with me as her useless assistant, re-wallpapered the camper. I've added some pics of the wallpaper. They must have washed the border with some harsh chemical and faded it to a nice neon green, so we replaced it.

Here's a before and After:

6 months already??

I swear I just blinked and Oliver is 6 months old! He weighed in this morning at 18lbs 0oz!!

I have some cute pics to share, but alas, they are at home on the camera.

He has been learning something new everyday day!

His recent accomplishments are sticking out his tongue and beating things on his high chair.

He is absolutely in love with his new toy from Aunt Julie!

Our first camping trip is this weekend in Mom's backyard..he he...let's see how he does!

I'll attach some pics from my cell phone, that way there's something to look at while i try to remember to get pics off my camera!
